Watermont Swim Club Board of Directors Meeting May 2002 Present: Evelyn Cavanaugh, Jim Murray, Chi Srinath, Chris Gross, Art Warshaw, Mary Turney, Jackie Amato, Darryl Smith and Tony Paren Meeting called to order at 1906 hours. Chi reviewed the pool finances. Twenty-nine members had still not paid. Actually collected $86,758. In dues. Ninety-five families on the waiting list. Needed three different colored badges but it was decided too difficult at this time. So there will be two colors: white for greater than or equal to 12 years and blue for younger members. Four volunteers are needed to make the badges. Michelle still needs to get badges printed. She is to pick up cards on Wednesday. The new life guards and pool manger were introduced to the board members and Chris took each ones picture for our bulletin board. Questions were answered and asked by the pool manager and the board members to clear up the meaning of each rule. The new manager is Lois Brooks a former member of Watermont Swim Club. She is a P.E. teacher at Arbutus Middle School. John Schicker is the assistant manager. He was a guard last year. The other guards are Lauren Tosh, Helen Brooks, Steve DeClue, Dan, brian Donnelly and Gabby. Janice gtave Stacy the regional supervisor a list of the rules, which will be laminated and given to each of the guards. Janice will also be in charge of the parties. No party will be booked before one o'clock. Guards can sign them up and take their fees. There was discussion with the guards about the swim badges. Where young children can earn them if they can swim the length of the pool. Art gave a quick accounting. Seventy one thousand was Chi's last deposit. We can expect $51,000. In expenses for the rest of the year. We are doing ok financially. Dr. Craig is offereing the use of a table tennis. Art said a friend might also be able to come up with a table. Voice mail is still full. Need to call Janet to empty it. Committee sign up sheet will be made available at the pool. June 15, 2002 is the next general meeting at the welcome back night. A sheet with the 29 names of people who haven't paid yet was divided up between Chi and Janice to contact the people to see what their intentions are. Note: reading of the minutes was deferred.
